The Blackout Map
State-by-State Legality
Updated for the July 2026 cycle.
Blacked-Out States
| State | Status | The Situation |
|---|---|---|
| Washington | Out | Off the board for years. Operators block WA at signup. |
| Nevada | Out | The casino capital keeps promotional casinos outside the arena. Long-standing. |
| Idaho | Out | Long-time exclusion. No operator on our board takes Idaho players. |
| California | Out – Jan 2026 | AB 831 banned the category effective January 2026. Operators pulled out before the whistle. |
The Rest of the Country
Everywhere else, the format generally runs as a legal promotion – free entry, nothing sold but tokens. But laws move. California just proved it. And operators draw their own maps: some skip extra states voluntarily.
Play It Straight
- Check the operator’s own terms page for your state before signing up. Their list is the binding one.
- No VPNs. No borrowed addresses. KYC checks your real state at cash-out, and a mismatch forfeits your winnings.
- 18+ is standard, but plenty of states and operators call it at 21+.
- Recheck this page each cycle – we re-verify it with every audit.
This is reporting, not legal advice. For a binding answer on your situation, read the operator’s terms or talk to a lawyer licensed in your state.
